John Hesp was the star of the 2017 WSOP main event, but after losing most of his chips on the first day of the final table, he never fully recovered. He found one double-up on the day, and outlasted three other players, but his final move got caught by Benjamin Pollak. Hesp shoved with 9c-7c and Pollak called with Ad-Js; the board ran out Ks-Ts-6h-4c-4h, and Pollak's ace-high busted Hesp in 4th for $2.6 million.
