It's no surprise that Ben Bishop of the Dallas Stars wasn't pleased when coach Ken Hitchcock yanked him at 4:04 of the second period on Tuesday, after Gabriel Landeskog gave the Colorado Avalanche at 3-2 lead. (They'd go on to win 5-3, against backup Kari Lehtonen.) But Bishop wasn't just upset about the pull of shame, but baffled by the timing. "There was no reason for me to come out. I guess that's the coach's decision. I'm not very happy with the decision. It's a 3-2 hockey game with more than half the game left," he said. Hitchcock told the media after the game that the Stars were "slow and dozy" across the board" and that the goalie change had nothing do with Bishop's performance. "I'll do the same with any other goaltender," he said. He might want to wise up his current netminder, a key offseason acquisition for Dallas, regarding this standard.
