In another upset of the night, Taiwan's Flash Wolves took down the undefeated SK Telecom T1 from South Korea at the 2016 League of Legends World Championship. With the loss, there are no more undefeated teams.

Despite a slower start compared to other games of the night, the Lee Sin pick from Flash Wolves' jungler Hung "Karsa" Hau-Hsuan and Aurelion Sol pick from mid laner Huang "Maple" Yi-Tang helped shut down legendary mid laner Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok. Karsa (kill/death/assist ratio 5/1/5) repeatedly visited the mid lane to harass Faker (1/5/1), even helping Maple (7/1/5) pick up a few kills.

Despite the pressure, the Wolves stalled in the mid game, a worrying trend for the team. SKT, however, could not find a way back in, and a catch around 28-minutes put two members of SKT on death timers. With a 5 vs. 3 scenario, Flash Wolves took Baron and extended their lead. A fight around Elder Drake sealed the deal after it went the Flash Wolves' way, and the Nexus at fell 41:32.
