Time names Dota 2 star Suma1L as one of 2016's most influential teens

Time has named Evil Geniuses' Dota 2 prodigy Syed Sumail "Suma1L" Hassan as one of the 30 most influential teens of 2016. Among a list of successful teens like US Olympic swimmer Katie Ledecky and Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams, Hassan is the only esports pro to be represented on the list.

Seventeen-year-old Hassan started his career as a young Dota prodigy, coming out of Pakistan to make a name for himself in competitive Dota 2 in 2014. Training in Internet cafes and in challenging public matches, Hassan cemented his legacy as one of the youngest to ever win The International in 2015. With EG's $6.6 million award from the event, Hassan became the youngest esports player to win more than $1 million in prize money. With his prize earnings (about $2.3 million to date), he's even bought a house for his parents.

After a successful LAN showing at the MarsTV Dota 2 League Autumn tournament, Hassan and EG look to continue the streak of success for the team as they continue on towards the Boston Major.
