Welcome back to our League of Legends global power rankings. Every week, we look at each team in the five major regions and rank them according to how they are performing.

We're entering Week 8 of the LCK and NA/EU LCS. The LMS is entering Week 7, and the LPL is entering Week 6 of play. The +/- indicates the change since the previous ranking.

Nos. 1-10 -- World contenders

Nos. 11-20 -- Playoff contenders

Nos. 21-30 -- Middle of the pack

Nos. 31-40 -- Struggling

Nos. 41-50 -- Bottom of the barrel

World contenders

1. SK Telecom T1

Record: 11-1 (22-5) | League: LCK | +/-: +1

It was a standard week from SKT, as they played the two bottom teams in the standing: Jin Air Greenwings and Kongdoo Monster. SKT played with their prey in the match against Kongdoo, allowing its opponent a decent-sized gold lead, but had no problem closing them out. Kim "Profit" Jun-Hyung continues to perform well as a sub top laner, carrying over his success from the KT series.

2. KT Rolster

Record: 10-3 (22-8) | League: LCK | +/-: -1

KT Rolster bounced back with a spirited 4-0 match week following back-to-back losses to SK Telecom T1. On the surface, they re-established themselves as the second-best team in the world. But in interviews, the team appear to have internal struggles, disheartened after being humbled by their Telecom rival. KT Rolster opened its wallets to make a team that could and should win the World Championship later this year in China, and neither the organization, coaching staff nor players will be happy with anything less than a Summoner's Cup. For now, KT can only march toward the playoffs, hopefully locking down a semifinal spot and a rematch against current world champion SKT.

3. Samsung Galaxy

Record: 8-4 (18-11) | League: LCK | +/-: +1

Samsung have generally been steady, but a shaky 1-2 series against Afreeca Freecs brings up a couple flags. Despite starting the series with a win, Samsung couldn't keep up with Afreeca's aggressive bot lane and wilted at the hands of Ha "Kramer" Jong-hun. A confident 2-0 over Longzhu, who have recently struggled, keeps Samsung high on the list.

4. Afreeca Freecs

Record: 7-5 (16-14) | League: LCK | +/-: +6

Is this the true power of the Freecs? After going through a complete roster overhaul in the offseason, the club was expected to do better in the new year with some new, big-name players. While former world champion and event MVP Jang "MaRin" Gyeong-hwa has been the best top laner in the league this split, the rest of the team has fluctuated among good, bad and sometimes ugly. The ugly play might be a relic of the past, however, as the team start to take shape to their full potential. They're heading into a rematch against SK Telecom T1 as the only team to have taken a win off the Telecom giant. Last month, the team was barely above the relegation line; now, finally finding some consistency, they are aiming to take the league title.

5. Flash Wolves

Record: 8-0 (16-1) | League: LMS | +/-: +1

Wow. Flash Wolves crushed ahq e-Sports Club this week, and it wasn't even close. A kill score of 27-4 in two games is brutal, and it's clear that Flash Wolves are a level ahead of the rest of the pack. The team's new mid-game-centric style centered around a pushing bot lane is perfect for the current meta, but they might see some trouble against more formidable laners.

6. MVP

Record: 7-5 (16-13) | League: LCK | +/-: -1

It was a tough loss for MVP against the Freecs, but the team are still in a good place to make the playoffs and a possible run through the gauntlet. A team that are outmatched in terms of individual skill, MVP have been the trickster of South Korea this season, utilizing pocket picks aplenty to take down teams such as KT Rolster. When they play standard, MVP's macro and teamwork put them in contention, but it still isn't enough to hang with a team such as Afreeca, which outmuscles them in some key positions. Luckily, last year's ace, Kim "Beyond" Kyu-seok, is rounding into 2016 form following a slow start to the season. He'll be a necessary component if MVP, aces up its sleeve or not, want to make a Cinderella run to the top of the competition.

7. Royal Never Give Up

Record: 7-1 (14-5) | League: LPL | +/-: --

RNG are still the best LPL has to offer. After having to defeat the regular kings of China, EDward Gaming, last week, this one was fairly lax. RNG had little trouble dispatching Newbee but did pull off a fun pick in the Nocturne. It's questionable if Liu "MLXG" Shi-yu will bring it out again, but it's a fun, diving pick that also works well with Shen if it ever comes to that.

8. G2 Esports

Record: 9-0 (18-4) | League: EU LCS | +/-: --

G2 Esports' undefeated series streak in Europe nearly came to an end against a resurging Splyce, but Alfonso "mithy" Aguirre Rodriguez and his teammates held firm, showcasing more fluid transitions into the mid game and cleaner team-fight decision-making. G2's early game remains a sore point, a matter that could be their undoing against top-caliber squads from non-LCS regions or against Misfits and H2k-Gaming, should they solve their weaknesses.

9. Team SoloMid

Record: 12-2 (24-13) | League: NA LCS | +/-: +4

Team SoloMid ascends back to first place in North America following wins over Team EnVyUs and Immortals, as well as a Cloud9 loss at the hands of Counter Logic Gaming. Team SoloMid has the best player in the league, Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg, and he is much of the reason the team are arguably the best in the NA LCS, but it's hard to leave the team's top laner, Kevin "Hauntzer" Yarnell, unnoticed. Hauntzer has looked great the past few weeks, and he has cemented himself as the best top laner in NA and a pivotal asset as the Team SoloMid team continues to rise in the rankings.

10. Longzhu

Record: 7-6 (16-16) | League: LCK | +/-: -6

When people talk about how coaching doesn't matter in League of Legends, just point at Longzhu and their plummet in form since strategic coach Kim "SSONG" Sang-soo left the team. That's not to say it isn't any of the players' faults. Still, the team has always been reaching for some coaching consistency, and the addition of SSONG -- who was once an integral part of ROX's success -- meant stability. Time is running out, and it remains to be seen if the remodeled coaching staff can whip the Dragons back into shape.

Playoff contenders

11. Team WE

Record: 6-2 (13-6) | League: LPL | +/-: +11

12. H2K Gaming

Record: 7-2 (16-5) | League: EU LCS | +/-: +5

13. EDward Gaming

Record: 6-2 (12-7) | League: LPL | +/-: -4

14. Cloud9

Record: 11-3 (24-10) | League: NA LCS | +/-: -2

15. ROX Tigers

Record: 5-7 (13-18) | League: LCK | +/-: -1

16. Phoenix1

Record: 9-5 (22-11) | League: NA LCS | +/-: +7

A 2-0 week for Phoenix1 showed a few things: The team is capable of playing with both of its junglers, William "Meteos" Hartman and Rami "Inori" Charagh, and the team's new support, William "Stunt" Chen, isn't as much of a downgrade as had been portrayed on social media. Phoenix1 look destined for the playoffs and have made some large improvements this season from their bottoming season last split.

Not only is the team capable, but also their AD carry, No "Arrow" Dong-hyeon, is arguably the best AD carry in the league since he made the move to North America. The team holds a comfortable third-place position, slightly below Cloud9 and Team SoloMid, and will have their shot in the playoffs following the season's conclusion in two weeks.

17. Misfits

Record: 7-2 (15-6) | League: EU LCS | +/-: -1

18. Unicorns of Love

Record: 7-2 (15-7) | League: EU LCS | +/-: +2

19. QG Reapers

Record: 5-3 (12-8) | League: LPL | +/-: -1

20. ahq

Record: 6-2 (13-4) | League: LMS | +/-: -1

Middle of the pack

21. Counter Logic Gaming

Record: 7-7 (16-19) | League: NA LCS | +/-: +6

Counter Logic Gaming this split has lacked consistency. They aren't a bad team by any means, but they have struggled to stay near the top. That best describes their Week 7, with a loss to Team Dignitas and a victory over Cloud9, the latter of which have contended for the best in the league for weeks on end.

Counter Logic Gaming will likely make playoffs. Their schedule for the final two weeks includes all teams below them in the standings, sans FlyQuest, with which Counter Logic Gaming is currently tied.

22. bbq Olivers

Record: 4-9 (11-19) | League: LCK | +/-: -7

23. Invictus Gaming

Record: 4-4 (11-8) | League: LPL | +/-: -2

24. Immortals

Record: 6-8 (17-18) | League: NA LCS | +/-: +11

Arguably the most fluctuating team in the North American League Championship Series, Immortals has at times looked like the worst in the league and others at others like a playoff-bound team. Their week ended with a 2-1 loss to Team SoloMid and a victory over FlyQuest, the latter of which puts them back in playoff contention as the final weeks of the league approach.

Immortals are a mix of veterans with young players. They seem to grow week by week but are a shadow of the team's former self from last season, for now. The group has a difficult schedule ahead if they want to make playoffs, as matches against Cloud9, Counter Logic Gaming and Phoenix1 are coming in three of the final four games this split.

25. I May

Record: 4-4 (8-10) | League: LPL | +/-: +7

26. Jin Air Green Wings

Record: 2-11 (9-22) | League: LCK | +/-: +3

It isn't easy being a Jin Air Green Wings fan. I think the only thing more difficult would be rooting for Longzhu or Team Liquid. Everyone says you're boring, you don't make the flashiest signings, and you're treading water and edging close to relegation. No real trophies. No final appearances. The most popular thing is an MS Paint picture that depicts your team as an airplane weeping at how much the team loses. On the bright side, Park "Teddy" Jin-sung is an incredible player and has a bright future when he inevitably gets picked up by a big South Korean team or rich Chinese team.

27. Splyce

Record: 5-4 (12-9) | League: EU LCS | +/-: -3

28. J Team

Record: 5-3 (11-8) | League: LMS | +/-: -2

29. Fnatic

Record: 4-5 (11-13) | League: EU LCS | +/-: -1

30. Team Dignitas

Record: 6-8 (16-19) | League: NA LCS | +/-: +8

Struggling

31. Snake Esports

Record: 4-4 (8-10) | League: LPL | +/-: +13

32. Kongdoo Monster

Record: 1-11 (6-23) | League: LCK | +/-: -7

33. FlyQuest

Record: 7-7 (17-16) | League: NA LCS | +/-: -11

At the beginning of the split, there were questions that surrounded FlyQuest. Although they squashed the critics with a strong start, the fire is starting to burn out, as the team took two losses to Immortals and Phoenix1 last week.

This team isn't full of stars but has solid players all around. Where they shine is a fundamental understanding of strategy, for which mid laner Hai "Hai" Du Lam is often praised. Now they'll have to fight hard to stay in playoff contention as other teams, such as Immortals, Team Dignitas and Echo Fox, try to make up ground.

34. Echo Fox

Record: 5-9 (13-21) | League: NA LCS | +/-: -4

35. Machi

Record: 5-3 (11-9) | League: LMS | +/-: +1

Machi has a tendency to get things together in the second half, and that might just be happening again, as they took down J Team 2-1 in convincing midgame snowballs. Couple that with their 2-1 over HKE, and that's five series wins in a row for M17. That said, we'll have to see a bit more from them before they can really be considered back at the top. Their match against ahq this week will be very telling.

36. Hong Kong eSports

Record: 5-4 (11-10) | League: LMS | +/-: -5

37. OMG

Record: 3-5 (8-10) | League: LPL | +/-: --

38. Game Talents

Record: 3-5 (8-12) | League: LPL | +/-: +1

39. Newbee

Record: 2-6 (7-13) | League: LPL | +/-: -6

40. Team Liquid

Record: 4-10 (14-23) | League: NA LCS | +/-: -3

Bottom of the barrel

41. Vici Gaming

Record: 2-6 (6-13) | League: LPL | +/-: -7

42. Giants Gaming

Record: 2-7 (7-16) | League: EU LCS | +/-: +3

Giants Gaming were on the verge of being the biggest winner. Instead, they faced controversy and the prospect of relegation. Riot Games' decision to remake Game 2 of the series against Vitality has potentially far-reaching effects. It might cost the team their spot in the LCS, should Team ROCCAT beat Giants in Week 8, despite Jonas "Memento" Elmarghichi's best effort.

43. Team EnVyUs

Record: 3-11 (10-23) | League: NA LCS | +/-: -2

44. LGD Gaming

Record: 2-6 (7-12) | League: LPL | +/-: +4

45. Fireball

Record: 2-6 (7-12) | League: LMS | +/-: -3

46. ROCCAT

Record: 2-7 (6-15) | League: EU LCS | +/-: +2

Team ROCCAT has finally awakened, and it took a humiliating defeat against Origen to kickstart their season. Upon shrugging off their fear of losing, the team showcased an increasing aptitude to deal with late-game scenarios against Vitality. More importantly, their fate is in their own hands; a win against Giants in Week 8 would help their chances of surviving the spring split.

47. Vitality

Record: 2-7 (6-15) | League: EU LCS | +/-: -1

Vitality might have secured their spot in the LCS following a 1-1 record on Week 7. Their encounter against ROCCAT might have been sloppy, but the decisiveness shown against Giants following a controversial remake attested to the squad's ability to read their opponent's movements. Although many questions remain on Vitality's play past the midgame stage, Week 7 serves as a landmark going forward.

48. Extreme Gamers

Record: 1-6 (3-13) | League: LMS | +/-: -1

49. Origen

Record: 0-9 (2-18) | League: EU LCS | +/-: +1

There's good news and bad news for Origen fans. The good news is that Yoo "NaeHyun" Nae-hyun has seen the victory screen on the competitive stage for the first time in his career -- in two different series this week. The bad news is they are staring into the abyss of relegation, lest Enrique "xPeke" Cedeño Martinez's in-game guidance help them miraculously win more than two games.

50. Wayi Spider

Record: 0-8 (1-16) | League: LMS | +/-: -1
