North American League of Legends team Immortals is in the process of finalizing a transfer for Counter Logic Gaming jungler Jake "Xmithie" Puchero to join its squad, sources close to both parties told ESPN.
With the deal, there is a possibility that Joshua "Dardoch" Hartnett, who Xmithie will replace on Immortals, will be traded to Counter Logic Gaming to man its jungle position, sources said.
Reasons behind the Xmithie transfer were not disclosed.
Immortals had its worst finish in franchise history last spring, finishing with an 8-10 record, taking seventh place and failing to qualify for playoffs.
Dardoch initially joined the Immortals squad during the 2016-17 offseason period in the fall, after a year with the Team Liquid organization. He parted ways to join Immortals, which was rebuilt following the departure of Kim "Reignover" Yeu-jin and Heo "Huni" Seung-hoon.
Xmithie has been with Counter Logic Gaming for several years. He has competed with the team in both of its first-place finishes in the League Championship Series in Summer 2015 and Spring 2016, and the second place at the 2016 Mid-Season Invitational. Counter Logic Gaming ended this spring with a fifth-sixth-place playoff end.
Immortals and CLG did not respond to requests for comment. Xmithie's agent and attorney, Ryan Morrison, declined to comment.
