Gen.G continued to shed players from their roster Saturday, announcing the departures of Jo "CoreJJ" Yong-in, Kang "Haru" Min-seung and Moon "Mong" Chang-min.
"We would like to express our greatest gratitude to CoreJJ, who helped the team win Worlds 2017 and advance to Worlds 2018 with top support plays, Haru, who helped accomplish the past achievements like CoreJJ did as a jungler, and Mong as a great teammate," Gen.G. said in a statement. "We thank the players for giving us a great season and hope the best for the players' future."
The news came two days after Kang "Ambition" Chan-young and Lee "Crown" Min-ho ended their contracts with the organization, meaning Gen.G has parted with most of its League of Legends rosters in a three-day span.
"We would like to express our greatest gratitude to Ambition, who has been actively leading the team as captain for the last three years, and Crown, who led the team to 2018 World Championship stage with his great efforts," Gen.G said in a statement. "We will not forget the time that we had together. We hope for the two players' bright future and ask for your support and a warm round of applause."
All but Mong were part of Gen.G's 2017 championship team, when the franchise was known as Samsung Galaxy. The only two remaining players from that roster are top laner Lee "CuVee" Seong-jin and AD carry Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk.
The team failed to advance out of the group stage at this year's world championship in South Korea, finishing with a disappointing 1-5 record in the international tournament.
