Astralis sweeps ENCE to win IEM Katowice

Astralis scored a convincing 2-0 win over ENCE on Sunday to win the grand final of the IEM Katowice Major in Katowice, Poland, and secure their third Counter-Strike: Global Offensive major crown.

Astralis needed only two maps, Train and Inferno, to defeat ENCE in the best-of-three final and pocket $500,000 of the $1 million prize pool. Runner-up ENCE received $150,000 and the two losing semifinalists, Natus Vincere and MIBR, received $70,000 apiece.

What turned out to be a one-sided series opened with Astralis' strong 16-11 victory on Train. Next, the all-Danish team made light work of the all-Finnish squad on Inferno, which Astralis won 16-4 to increase their current record on this map to 15-0, according to hltv.org.

Andreas "Xyp9x" Hojsleth led the way for the winning side with an average damage per round (ADR) of 90.4, per HLTV.org. His teammates were Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen (90.0), Nicolai "device" Reedtz (89.7), Emil "Magisk" Reif (87.6) and Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander (62.8).

Sami "xseveN" Laasanen topped his ENCE teammates with an 81.0 ADR. Rounding out the team were Jere "sergej" Salo (78.4), Aleksi "allu" Jalli (57.9), Jani "Aerial" Jussila (54.6) and Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen (50.7).
