The PUBG Corporation announced that the inaugural Nations Cup will take place Aug. 9-11 in Seoul, South Korea, and feature a $500,000 prize pool.
The top PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds players from around the world will represent 16 countries while competing inside the Jangchung Arena. Players from each country will be selected by their peers or through other "country-specific models," with each team consisting of four players.
Teams will play in five matches per day across the three-day event.
"Nations Cup, the first PUBG-hosted global esports event of the year, is the embodiment of international competition, which brings together the top players from around the world to represent their countries," Jake Sin, Director of Central Esports for PUBG Corporation, said in a statement. "Nations Cup will close out an exciting summer of PUBG esports and we look forward to continuing that momentum throughout the rest of the year."
