BlizzCon 2018 primer

BlizzCon 2018 kicks off this weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Robert Paul for Blizzard Entertainment

The biggest event on Blizzard Entertainment's calendar, BlizzCon 2018, is just a few days away, and the world is waiting for the next wave of announcements to come rolling in from the publishing giant.

Tickets to the event are completely gone, but here's how you can keep tabs on all things Blizzard this coming weekend.

The main focus of anyone not in attendance should be BlizzCon's Opening Ceremonies, which is where the bulk of the big announcements have taken place in recent years.

This year the Opening Ceremonies kick off at 2 p.m. ET on Friday.

For those not in attendance, Blizzard will provide a stream of the event on their website. There's also the $50 BlizzCon Virtual Ticket, which grants digital access to every presentation that takes place over the weekend.

Presentations for all of Blizzard's top games will be included, with panels on Hearthstone, Overwatch and Diablo, among others already planned.

There's extra incentive in the Virtual Ticket as well, as each purchase comes bundled with exclusive loot for some of Blizzard's big titles.

That loot includes:

Heroes of the Storm: Nexus Razorgrin Mount and Spray, BlizzCon 2018 Banner and Portrait
Hearthstone : BlizzCon 2018 card back and 10 card packs
Overwatch: Legendary Demon Hunter Sombra skin
StarCraft: SCR Console Skin for StarCraft Remastered, Classic skins for StarCraft II Terran, Zerg, and Protoss workers, and Portrait
World of Warcraft: Mantle of the Horde and Alliance, Stormwind and Orgrimmar Champion's War Banners

There are some neat pieces in that offering -- the Sombra suit in particular is worth the price of admission alone -- so if you fancy yourself a Blizzard fan the Virtual Ticket offers plenty of value.
