The United States' Overwatch World Cup hopes came to a swift end Friday courtesy of a 3-1 loss to the lower-seeded United Kingdom in the best-of-five quarterfinals at BlizzCon in Anaheim, California.

The U.S. won the first map, Ilios, before losing King's Row (1-0), Volskaya Industries (4-3) and Route 66 (3-2) consecutively. Their series was the only one not decided in a sweep: South Korea dominated Australia in a 3-0 sweep, China swept Finland and Canada cruised past France 3-0. Like U.K., Canada was a lower seed.

The semifinals on Saturday will see U.K. try its luck against South Korea, which has won the past two World Cups without losing a single series in either tournament. China will take on Canada.

Later in the day, the bronze medal match will be played just ahead of the gold medal match, which will be a best-of-seven.

Live streams of the competition at the Anaheim Convention Center can be found on Twitch and YouTube, with select broadcasts on ESPN3 and Disney XD.
