Updates/analysis (most recent first)

7:05 p.m. ET -- Desmond Clark inactive -- The Chicago Sun-Times reports that TE Desmond Clark (neck, doubtful) is inactive for the Bears. Greg Olsen's matchup only gets more attractive with this news.

6:59 p.m. ET -- Maclin active, Curtis inactive -- The Chicago Sun-Times reports that WR Jeremy Maclin (foot, probable) is active, though WR Kevin Curtis (knee, out) is inactive, for the Eagles. Maclin warrants No. 3/4 consideration in deeper leagues, but be aware that he's unlikely to return kicks this week; that job is likely to fall upon S Macho Harris (eye, probable).

6:58 p.m. ET -- Westbrook inactive, Weaver active -- The Chicago Sun-Times reports that RB Brian Westbrook (concussion, out) is inactive, though RB Leonard Weaver (ankle, probable) is active, for the Eagles. The Westbrook news merely confirms our earlier report, which endorsed LeSean McCoy as a fantasy starter. Weaver might see a handful of carries as McCoy's backup.

6:56 p.m. ET -- Sheldon Brown active -- The Chicago Sun-Times reports that CB Sheldon Brown (hamstring, questionable), who earlier in the week looked like a long shot to play, is active for the Eagles. With Brown healthy, Jay Cutler's matchup looks even less attractive. In other Eagles defensive news, LB Akeem Jordan (knee, out) is inactive.

3:13 p.m. ET -- Greg Ellis active -- The Oakland Tribune reports that DE Greg Ellis (knee, questionable) is active for the Raiders.

3:12 p.m. ET -- More hints Simms will start -- Though some sources suggest the Broncos might yet start Kyle Orton at quarterback, the Denver Post is also confirming that Chris Simms will get the start. If that changes, we'll let you know.

3:08 p.m. ET -- Chargers defenders healthy -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that both LBs Shawne Merriman (foot, probable) and Shaun Phillips (ankle, probable) are active.

3:07 p.m. ET -- Antonio Gates active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that TE Antonio Gates (foot, probable) is active for the Chargers. No surprise here, and as always, he's a must-start.

3:01 p.m. ET -- Brandon Marshall active -- The Broncos' official Web site reports that WR Brandon Marshall (neck, probable) is active, while WR Brandon Lloyd (foot, probable) is inactive. As noted earlier, Marshall and the Broncos' other receivers take a hit in fantasy value due to the sketchy quarterback situation this week.

3:00 p.m. ET -- Buckhalter active, Jordan inactive -- The Broncos' official Web site reports that RB Correll Buckhalter (knee, probable) is active, though RB LaMont Jordan (back, out) is inactive. Don't expect Buckhalter to be a significant threat to Knowshon Moreno's number of touches.

2:59 p.m. ET -- Kyle Orton active -- The Broncos' official Web site reports that QB Kyle Orton (ankle, questionable) is active, though we did mention earlier that he's expected to be the backup with Chris Simms starting. Avoid either quarterback, and downgrade the entire Denver passing game with Simms under center.

2:57 p.m. ET -- More Patriots inactives -- The Patriots' official Web site reports that WR Sam Aiken (hip, questionable) is inactive, though WR Julian Edelman (forearm, questionable) and TEs Benjamin Watson (knee, probable) and Chris Baker (shoulder, questionable) are active. There isn't a viable fantasy starter among this bunch, though.

2:56 p.m. ET -- Smith, Leonhard active -- The Jets' official Web site reports that both WR Brad Smith (quadricep, probable) and S Jim Leonhard (thumb, questionable) are active. Nothing huge here, though Leonhard's active status is a boon to the Jets' defense.

2:52 p.m. ET -- Morris, Taylor inactive -- The Patriots' official Web site reports that both RBs Sammy Morris (knee, questionable) and Fred Taylor (ankle, out) are inactive. Laurence Maroney will start again and is a useful flex option.

2:51 p.m. ET -- Tom Brady active -- The Patriots' official Web site reports that QB Tom Brady (right shoulder, probable) is active. Big shocker. He's a must-start, even facing a bit more challenging matchup than usual.

2:49 p.m. ET -- Johnathan Joseph active -- The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that CB Johnathan Joseph (foot, questionable) is active for the Bengals.

2:48 p.m. ET -- Laveranues Coles active -- The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that WR Laveranues Coles (head, probable) is active for the Bengals. With his increase in targets the past couple of weeks, he might have some use as a No. 3/4 option.

2:46 p.m. ET -- Cedric Benson inactive -- The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that RB Cedric Benson (hip, doubtful) is inactive for the Bengals. No surprises here, though Benson did attempt to warm up to play. With Benson out, Bernard Scott will start at running back, warranting deep-league flex consideration, though Brian Leonard might play some passing downs with Larry Johnson getting a few touches in a backup role.

2:44 p.m. ET -- Rams defenders healthy -- The Rams' official Web site reports that DEs Chris Long (knee, questionable), James Hall (back, probable) and Leonard Little (knee, probable) are all active.

2:43 p.m. ET -- Cardinals defenders healthy -- The Cardinals' official Web site reports that LBs Gerald Hayes (back, questionable) and Karlos Dansby (shoulder, questionable), CB Bryant McFadden (ankle, questionable) and S Adrian Wilson (groin, probable) are all active.

2:41 p.m. ET -- Jerheme Urban inactive -- The Cardinals' official Web site reports that Jerheme Urban is inactive. If you needed any further proof that Early Doucet had moved ahead of Urban on the depth chart, here it is. That said, even though the Cardinals are a pass-friendly offense, you can't afford to dig to fourth on the depth chart when the top three options are all healthy.

2:40 p.m. ET -- Patrick active, Spach inactive -- The Cardinals' official Web site reports that TE Ben Patrick (knee, questionable) is active, though Stephen Spach is inactive. You shouldn't be counting on Cardinals tight ends in fantasy, despite their uptick in red-zone use, so if you're desperate...

2:39 p.m. ET -- Steve Breaston active -- The Cardinals' official Web site reports that WR Steve Breaston (knee, probable) is active. He remains third on the depth chart but this matchup does provide him with a decent amount of No. 3 fantasy appeal.

12:21 p.m. ET -- Aqib Talib active -- The Buccaneers' official Web site reports that CB Aqib Talib (hamstring, probable) is active. He'll continue to be a passable IDP option since this secondary gets thrown on frequently.

12:19 p.m. ET -- Ellis, Porter, Greer inactive -- The New Orleans Times Picayune reports that CBs Jabari Greer (groin, out) and Tracy Porter (knee, out) and DT Sedrick Ellis (knee, questionable) are inactive for the Saints. Another week of an injury-tattered secondary for the Saints. Shame for fantasy ownersit's the Bucs and their mediocre offense getting this matchup this week.

12:18 p.m. ET -- Lance Moore inactive -- The New Orleans Times Picayune reports that WR Lance Moore (ankle, out) is inactive for the Saints, as expected. Robert Meachem might pick up a little more work and be a low-level sleeper in deeper leagues.

12:17 p.m. ET -- Erik Coleman active -- The Falcons' official Web site reports that S Erik Coleman (knee, questionable) is active.

12:15 p.m. ET -- More Packers inactives -- The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that LB Brandon Chillar (hand, probable), LB Aaron Kampman (concussion, probable), LB Clay Matthews (jaw, probable) and CB Charles Woodson (hip, probable) are all active.

12:15 p.m. ET -- Ahman Green inactive -- The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that RB Ahman Green (groin, questionable) is inactive for the Packers. Expect Brandon Jackson to serve as the team's No. 2 back, not that it's a fantasy-relevant position.

12:14 p.m. ET -- Jermichael Finley active -- The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that TE Jermichael Finley (knee, probable) is active for the Packers. Expect him to be worked in slowly, so don't race to activate him in fantasy leagues.

12:13 p.m. ET -- More Browns inactives -- The Browns' official Web site reports that LB David Bowens (knee, probable), DE Kenyon Coleman (groin, probable) and DT Shaun Rogers (back, probable) are all active. Of course, all three have underperformed as IDP options; you should be able to do better.

12:12 p.m. ET -- Chansi Stuckey active -- The Browns' official Web site reports that WR Chansi Stuckey (calf, probable) is active. You don't want to dig deep for Browns wide receivers if you can help it.

12:11 p.m. ET -- Robert Royal active -- The Browns' official Web site reports that TE Robert Royal (finger, probable) is active. His role might be expanding with Steve Heiden on season-ending injured reserve, but you don't really want to rely on Browns tight ends.

12:10 p.m. ET -- Lions defensive inactives -- NFL.com reports that both LB Ernie Sims (hamstring, out) and DE Dewayne White (toe, questionable) are inactive, though S Louis Delmas (tooth, probable), LB Larry Foote (knee, probable) and S Ko Simpson (knee, probable) are all active. Delmas is the IDP standout of the lot.

12:08 p.m. ET -- Stafford, Johnson active -- NFL.com reports that both QB Matthew Stafford (knee, probable) and WR Calvin Johnson (hand, probable) are active for the Lions. Johnson is the clear fantasy play of the two; let Stafford prove his worth before you ever consider slotting him into your fantasy lineup.

12:06 p.m. ET -- Josh Wilson inactive -- The Seahawks' official Web site reports that CB Josh Wilson (concussion, doubtful) is inactive, though CB Marcus Trufant (concussion, probable) is active. With Wilson sidelined, the Vikings' passing game gets a noticeable boost in matchup.

12:05 p.m. ET -- Sensabaugh, Ware active -- The Cowboys' official Web site reports that both S Gerald Sensabaugh (thumb, probable) and LB DeMarcus Ware (foot, probable) are active.

12:04 p.m. ET -- Nate Clements inactive -- The 49ers' official Web site reports that CB Nate Clements (shoulder, out) is inactive, though both S Michael Lewis (quadricep, probable) and DT Justin Smith (back, probable) are active.

12:03 p.m. ET -- Coffee, Robinson active -- The 49ers' official Web site reports that both RBs Michael Robinson (not injury related, probable) and Glen Coffee (concussion, probable) are active. They're both clear backups and minimally used, so avoid them.

12:01 p.m. ET -- Crabtree, Bruce active -- The 49ers' official Web site reports that both WRs Isaac Bruce (ankle, probable) and Michael Crabtree (knee, probable) are active. Crabtree is a useful fantasy option, more as a No. 3/4, though Bruce doesn't belong on a fantasy roster, having been dropped to fourth on the depth chart behind Jason Hill.

12:00 p.m. ET -- Mathis, Durant inactive -- The Jaguars' official Web site reports that CB Rashean Mathis (groin, out) and LB Justin Durant (head, doubtful) are both inactive. With Mathis sidelined, Lee Evans has an even stronger matchup, making him a solid No. 2/3 option.

11:59 a.m. ET -- Hayden inactive, but Freeney active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that CB Kelvin Hayden (knee, out) is inactive, though both DE Dwight Freeney (hip, questionable) and CB Antoine Bethea (foot, questionable) are active, for the Colts.

11:58 a.m. ET -- Adam Vinatieri inactive -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that K Adam Vinatieri (right knee, out) is inactive for the Colts. Matt Stover will handle their placekicking duties, as he has the past few weeks.

11:57 a.m. ET -- Pierre Garcon active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that WR Pierre Garcon (ankle, questionable) is active for the Colts. He and Austin Collie tend to split up targets to some degree, limiting their fantasy appeal. Only consider either in deeper leagues.

11:55 a.m. ET -- Marion Barber active -- The Cowboys' official Web site reports that RB Marion Barber (thumb, probable) is active. With the Redskins down Albert Haynesworth, Barber has a great matchup, though as always, expect Felix Jones and Tashard Choice to get a bit more work than the typical backups.

11:52 a.m. ET -- Bills inactives -- The Bills' official Web site reports that DT Marcus Stroud (knee, out) and CB Terrence McGee (knee, questionable) are inactive, while DT Kyle Williams (knee, questionable) and S Jairus Byrd (groin, questionable) are active. Williams' return helps the Bills' defense, but this is still a great matchup for Maurice Jones-Drew, just as it was for Chris Johnson last week. Byrd might be a popular IDP choice, being that he leads the league in interceptions (8) and has a pick in each of his past five games.

11:50 a.m. ET -- Suggs inactive, Ngata active -- The Ravens' official Web site reports that while LB Terrell Suggs (knee, out) is inactive, DT Haloti Ngata (ankle, questionable) is active. With Ngata healthy, the Colts' running backs have a somewhat less attractive matchup.

11:49 a.m. ET -- Joe Flacco active -- The Ravens' official Web site reports that QB Joe Flacco (knee, probable) is active. It's an unsavory matchup for him versus the Colts, who are typically a stingy pass defense.

11:48 a.m. ET -- Todd Heap active -- The Ravens' official Web site reports that TE Todd Heap (chest, questionable) is active. He might share time with L.J. Smith, however, and isn't a recommended fantasy play.

11:47 a.m. ET -- Winfield inactive, Henderson active -- The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that CB Antoine Winfield (foot, doubtful) is inactive, though LB E.J. Henderson (knee, probable) is active, for the Vikings. With Winfield out, bump up the Seahawks receivers' matchups.

11:46 a.m. ET -- Brett Favre active -- The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that QB Brett Favre (groin, probable) is active for the Vikings. As usual, he's on the injury report and then active on game day. No reason to worry about Favre most any week, and in a home game, you've got to start him.

11:45 a.m. ET -- Bernard Berrian active -- The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that WR Bernard Berrian (hamstring, questionable) is active for the Vikings. Fantasy owners might not want to chance using him, however, as both Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin appear to have passed him in the Vikings' receiver pecking order.

11:44 a.m. ET -- Troy Polamalu inactive -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that S Troy Polamalu (knee, out) is inactive for the Steelers.

11:42 a.m. ET -- Antonio Bryant active -- The Buccaneers' official Web site reports that WR Antonio Bryant (knee, probable) is active. He's likely to split time with Maurice Stovall, however, so don't expect any high-profile fantasy stats.

11:41 a.m. ET -- Kellen Winslow active -- The Buccaneers' official Web site reports that TE Kellen Winslow (knee, probable) is active. He's a solid start facing an injury-ravaged Saints defense, especially in a game where the Bucs might constantly throw.

11:38 a.m. ET -- Cadillac Williams active -- The Buccaneers' official Web site reports that RB Cadillac Williams (knee, probable) is active. With DT Sedrick Ellis (knee, questionable) out, the Saints' run defense is in shoddy shape, which plays well to Williams' matchup. He'll have Derrick Ward lurking to steal touches and the Saints could put the Bucs in an early hole and take the run out of the equation, but Williams does have some flex appeal accounting for the matchup.

11:36 a.m. ET -- Ladell Betts active -- The Redskins' official Web site reports that RB Ladell Betts (ankle, probable) is active. He'll start and is a worthwhile low-level No. 2/high-level flex, though don't expect a huge game from him. The Cowboys' run defense is better than most people think it is.

11:35 a.m. ET -- Kyle Orton to be the backup -- ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that QB Kyle Orton (ankle, questionable) will be active to serve as the Broncos' backup quarterback this week. Fantasy owners should steer far clear, regardless of Orton's active status.

11:33 a.m. ET -- Roddy White active -- The Falcons' official Web site reports that WR Roddy White (knee, questionable) is active. He's a must-start facing a Giants team that had worlds of trouble defending opposing wide receivers heading into the bye week.

11:30 a.m. ET -- Lewis active, Harrison inactive -- The Browns' official Web site reports that RB Jamal Lewis (ankle, questionable) is active. He'll start and might warrant flex appeal in deeper leagues accounting for the soft matchup. Jerome Harrison is inactive, yet another sign of how he has fallen behind Chris Jennings on the depth chart. Should Lewis get hurt at any point, Jennings would warrant fantasy attention.

11:29 a.m. ET -- Josh Cribbs active -- The Browns' official Web site reports that WR Josh Cribbs (neck, questionable) is active as expected. The Browns have their Wildcat man back in action, reportedly at full strength, though he's not involved enough in the offense to be helpful in most fantasy formats.

11:28 a.m. ET -- Giants missing Pierce, but get Ross back -- The Giants' official Web site reports that CB Aaron Ross (hamstring, questionable) is active, though Antonio Pierce, as expected, is inactive. This Giants defense did slump heading into the bye week, so approach it with some caution until we get a read on whether the bye week has helped the unit turn itself around.

11:26 a.m. ET -- Manning, Bradshaw active -- The Giants' official Web site reports that both QB Eli Manning (foot, probable) and RB Ahmad Bradshaw (ankle, probable) are active, as expected. Manning is well worth using facing this favorable matchup, though Bradshaw is more of a flex play with all 32 teams back in action this week. Brandon Jacobs remains the more useful fantasy option from the Giants' backfield, though as more of a No. 2 option.

11:24 a.m. ET -- Larry Johnson will be involved -- ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Larry Johnson should get about eight carries for the Bengals this week, "depending on flow of the game." No official word yet on RB Cedric Benson's (hip, doubtful) status, but all indications are that he's not going to play. Bernard Scott is expected to start for the Bengals, but the Johnson news diminishes Scott's appeal somewhat.

11:22 a.m. ET -- Albert Haynesworth out -- ESPN 980 in Washington, D.C., reports that DT Albert Haynesworth (ankle, questionable) is out for the Redskins. Upgrade the Cowboys' running game as a result.

11:18 a.m. ET -- Darren Sharper to play -- ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that S Darren Sharper (knee, probable) will be active for the Saints. Heads up to those of you in IDP leagues who own him -- he's a worthy fantasy option.

11:15 a.m. ET -- Chris Simms to start -- ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Chris Simms will start at quarterback for the Broncos. No official word yet on whether Kyle Orton (ankle, questionable) will be inactive, though this certainly seems to lean towards that being the case. Downgrade all members of the Broncos' offense, as Simms represents a signficant drop-off at the position.

11:01 a.m. ET -- Jerious Norwood also out -- ESPN's Rachel Nichols reports that RB Jerious Norwood (hip, questionable) will also be out for the Falcons. Aaron Stecker is expected to be active to back up Jason Snelling, though his unfamiliarity with the playbook means he's unlikely to get many carries. Snelling is the guy for fantasy owners to get.

10:59 a.m. ET -- Michael Turner to sit -- ESPN's Rachel Nichols reports that a Falcons team source confirmed that RB Michael Turner (ankle, doubtful) will not play. Jason Snelling will draw the start, and warrants flex-play appeal in most fantasy leagues.

9:27 a.m. ET -- Saints RB Reggie Bush (knee, questionable), Seahawks RB Julius Jones (chest, out), Redskins RB Clinton Portis (concussion, out) and Eagles RB Brian Westbrook (concussion, out) have already been ruled out in advance of Week 11. Expect Pierre Thomas, Justin Forsett, Ladell Betts and LeSean McCoy to get the starts for those teams respectively, with Thomas' matchup the most attractive in fantasy. Mike Bell might get a few extra carries to keep Thomas fresh, though. We'll also keep tabs on Leonard Weaver's health, as he might get some work as McCoy's backup if cleared to play.
