Bryson DeChambeau captured the U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina on Sunday, earning the second major title -- and second U.S. Open -- of his career.
His path to victory wasn't exactly linear. DeChambeau didn't go on top until the third round, when he shot his second 67 of the competition to clinch his first 54-hole lead at a major.
On Sunday, DeChambeau edged Rory McIlroy by 1 shot. The two jockeyed back and forth atop the leaderboard. However, a pair of late missed putts by McIlroy and a stellar bunker shot from DeChambeau on the 18th hole put the American in position to two-putt his way to a 6-under par finish and victory.
It didn't take long for social media to react to DeChambeau's victory.
Bryson is a STALLION!
