Gujarat Giants, now coached by the League's most successful manager in Ram Meher Singh, will begin their charge for a maiden title when they face Tamil Thalaivas in their first match of the Pro Kabaddi League season 9 (PKL 9) on October 8 at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru.

Ram Meher knows a thing or two about winning: he steered Patna Pirates to three successive titles. Gujarat's defence was its USP under former coach Manpreet Singh, but Ram Meher has strengthened the raiding unit by bringing on board South Korea's Dong Geon Lee and the veteran Chandran Ranjit.
