Rockhold suffers new knee injury, rematch with Souza off (0:52)

Brett Okamoto looks at the timeline of knee injuries Luke Rockhold has suffered through 2016, including the new one that will keep him out of his rematch with Ronaldo Souza. (0:52)

A rematch between UFC middleweights Luke Rockhold and Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza scheduled for Nov. 26 in Melbourne, Australia, is off, as Rockhold has injured his left knee.

Sources confirmed Rockhold's withdrawal, following a report from MMAFighting.com. The bout was supposed to headline the UFC Fight Night event. UFC officials have not yet confirmed.

Rockhold (15-3) has dealt with a left knee injury before. Ahead of his title fight against Michael Bisping at UFC 199 in June, Rockhold publicly revealed he had suffered a strained MCL during camp. He ultimately lost the title via first-round knockout to Bisping.

According to sources, Rockhold is now suffering from a new injury to the same area. There is no timetable for his return.

Souza (23-4) has been campaigning for a 185-pound title shot. The Brazilian is 6-1 in the UFC and is coming off a first-round shelling of Vitor Belfort.

The bout would have been a rematch of a 2011 Strikeforce title fight. Rockhold won that five-round bout via unanimous decision.

Bisping (30-7) currently does not have a fight scheduled. He successfully defended the belt by out-pointing Dan Henderson at UFC 204 last month in Manchester.
