Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan acknowledged to The Charlotte Observer on Monday night that he would listen to offers on Kemba Walker but said it would take an All-Star player in return if he were to trade him.
"I'm not looking to trade Kemba, but I would listen to opportunities," Jordan told the newspaper.
"It's not like we are shopping him. We would not just give him up. I love Kemba Walker. I would not trade him for anything but an All-Star player," Jordan added to the newspaper.
Sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski last week that Charlotte has been encouraging teams to make offers and appears eager to discuss attaching Walker to a larger trade in which another team would take on one of the Hornets' several less desirable contracts.
Walker has resigned himself to the fact there is little he can do before the Feb. 8 NBA trade deadline.
"I'm over it,'' Walker said of the trade report. "I'm not even thinking about it anymore. I just want to win.''
The point guard scored a game-high 26 points Monday night as the Hornets bounced back from a tough loss to beat the Sacramento Kings 112-107.
Walker, 27, who was an All-Star last season, is averaging 21.8 points, 5.9 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game this season.
