After Team World dominated Team USA in the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday, and Utah Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell captured the dunk contest on Saturday, the main event of All-Star weekend tipped off on Sunday night.

Team LeBron beat Team Stephen 148-145 in the first year of the new format that consisted of the two captains selecting their own rosters through a playground-style draft process.

LeBron James' team lost DeMarcus Cousins, Kristaps Porzingis, Kevin Love and John Wall to injuries, but featured former Oklahoma City Thunder teammates Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook and James' ex-teammate Kyrie Irving.

Stephen Curry countered with rising star Giannis Antetokounmpo and MVP candidate James Harden, along with other young talents in Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns.
