LAS VEGAS -- Forward James Ennis III will sign a two-year deal with the Houston Rockets, a source confirmed.
The second season of the contact will be a player option, the source said.
The 6-foot-7 Ennis, 28, replaces some of the length and athleticism the Rockets lost with the free agency departures of starting small forward Trevor Ariza and key reserve Luc Mbah a Moute.
Ennis averaged 7.1 points and 3.1 rebounds in 72 games with the Memphis Grizzlies and Detroit Pistons. He has averaged 6.4 points and 3.2 rebounds while playing for four teams in his five-year career.
Yahoo! Sports first reported the deal.
