The Detroit Pistons will be without Blake Griffin until at least early November due to continued soreness in his knee and hamstring.
Griffin did not travel to Indiana for Detroit's season opener against the Pacers on Wednesday, with the team saying he will continue treatment and conditioning "for left hamstring and posterior knee soreness."
The Pistons say he will be re-evaluated the first week of November.
Detroit has five games in October.
Griffin, a six-time All-Star, appeared in 75 games last season for Detroit, his most 2013-14. He averaged a career-high 25.5 points to go with 7.5 rebounds. He had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in the offseason.
The veteran forward played in Detroit's first two preseason games, then missed its remaining three. He did participate in part of Monday's practice.
"Still sore, day to day," coach Dwane Casey told reporters Monday. "We're going to be conservative. Whatever his body says."
First-round draft pick Sekou Doumbouya (concussion protocol) will not travel to Indiana either, and Markieff Morris (low back tightness) is questionable. Point guard Reggie Jackson (low back tightness) is probable.
