NBA stars Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies and Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves are battling on the hardwood, while their fathers, Tee Morant and Karl-Anthony Towns Sr., are making waves off of it.
In Game 1 of the best-of-seven series between the two teams Saturday, the two dads were seen exchanging pleasantries toward the end of the contest, which the T-Wolves won 130-117. During Game 2 on Tuesday, the duo was at it again, trading barbs during an interview with Yahoo! senior NBA insider and TNT sideline reporter Chris Haynes.
During the discussion, it was revealed that the two fathers have a wager on the series' outcome. The losing dad must wear the jersey of the winning son. Memphis evened the series at a game apiece with a 124-96 romp.
Both parents have to be pleased with their sons' performances so far. Morant scored 32 points along with 8 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals in Game 1. Towns finished with 29 points and 13 rebounds.
In Game 2, Towns had 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Morant almost recorded a triple-double with 23 points, 10 assists and 9 boards.
