MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Ja Morant scored 22 points in the Grizzlies' 123-98 win over Portland on Monday night after missing Memphis' previous eight games with hip and pelvic muscle injuries.
The two-time All-Star guard played 23 minutes and added 11 assists. He shot 6-of-12 and was 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.
Morant had been listed as questionable, with the Grizzlies announcing about 45 minutes before the game that he would play against the Trail Blazers.
Morant was injured on a drive to the basket in the second half of the Grizzlies' 131-114 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Nov. 6.
Morant, the second pick in the 2019 draft, is averaging 20.8 points, 9.3 assists and five rebounds in nine games this season.
Memphis coach Taylor Jenkins said pregame that he would be "minute conscious" with Morant but added that the player was under no restrictions. The Grizzlies (11-7) play three more games at home over the next six days.
"We'll definitely be smart, but not that restrictive," Jenkins said.
