News: 4 days agoSingletary carried the ball 16 times for 95 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 21-18 loss to the Commanders. He also caught his only target for zero yards.

Spin: The veteran running back scored his first TD as a Giant late in the first quarter on a seven-yard run. Singletary has dominated the backfield touches for New York through the first two weeks of the year -- Tyrone Tracy was the only other RB to see the ball, taking one carry for two yards -- and while the team's offense as a whole hasn't been particularly effective so far, that volume does give him a solid fantasy floor. Singletary will look to put together another strong effort in Week 3 against the Browns.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Singletary signed a three-year deal to join the Giants and essentially replace Saquon Barkley. Good luck. While Singletary delivered seven double-digit fantasy efforts for the Texans last season, he is not close to Barkley's level. Singletary averaged only 9.8 fantasy points per game. He is undersized and not a speed burner, but he has been a fairly consistent, durable contributor for five NFL seasons. The Giants may be poised to give him his best opportunity for touches, even though they drafted Tyrone Tracy Jr. late, but in a below-average offense with issues galore, it makes Singletary an RB3, at best.
