News: 4 days agoPierce secured five of seven targets for 56 yards and a touchdown in the Colts' 16-10 loss to the Packers on Sunday.

Spin: Pierce was surprisingly the Colts' most impactful receiver for the second time in as many games to open the season, recording team-high reception and receiving yardage totals while also tying for the lead in targets. Pierce also recorded his second touchdown of the season -- matching both his 2022 and 2023 totals -- on a four-yard grab with just under two minutes remaining. The chemistry between Anthony Richardson and Pierce is undeniable, but it remains to be seen how the third-year wideout's targets will be affected by the eventual season debut of Josh Downs (ankle).

ESPN Fantasy Projection: While Michael Pittman Jr. serves as the Colts' security blanket in the passing game with an average depth of target hovering around eight yards, Pierce has served as the field-stretching specialist, finishing 13th in the league in aDOT among players with at least 30 targets in 2023. While he's running vertical routes with regularity, it was discouraging to note Pierce's target volume actually dipped in his second season, limiting his fantasy appeal to that of a low-floor option who has rarely realized a high ceiling. Following the Colts' selection of Adonai Mitchell in the draft, Pierce descends on the depth chart and is not worth drafting.
