News: 5 days agoDavis took nine carries for 62 yards without being targeted as a receiver in Sunday's 26-7 win over the Steelers.

Spin: Davis added 15 yards on his only kick return, failing to recreate the electricity from last week's return TD against the Texans. The 25-year-old backup instead stood out by outproducing his entire rushing yardage total from his 11 previous appearances in one contest. Davis had reached nine carries just twice prior to Week 13, with both occurrences coming in blowouts just like Sunday's. Fantasy managers can safely ignore Davis ahead of next Sunday's tilt against the Bengals.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Davis is entering his second season after soaking up 130 touches as a rookie last season. The fourth-round pick essentially split change-of-pace duties with Ty Johnson behind lead back James Cook. Davis played 24% of the snaps on the season and averaged 7.6 touches per game. He cleared 12 touches only twice (Cook was out or limited for both) and was impressive (152 yards in Week 6, 65 yards and one TD in Week 18). The 25-year-old was effective as both a rusher and receiver and, as we saw in a small sample last season, he'd likely be Buffalo's lead back (with Johnson also plenty involved) in the event of a Cook injury. That makes him a valuable insurance back worth consideration in the late rounds.
