DAVIE, Fla. -- Miami Dolphins starting running back Arian Foster will not play in Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns due to a groin injury, head coach Adam Gase said Friday.
Foster suffered the injury in last week's loss to the New England Patriots and missed the team's next three practices.
"He'll be out this week," Gase said. "We've kept him inside and done obviously some rehab stuff. We didn't want to bring him outside. We're just going to hold him out for this one and going to re-evaluate him after this week."
Foster leads Miami's running backs with 47 rushing yards on 16 carries. The former four-time Pro Bowler signed a one-year contract with the Dolphins one week before the start of training camp.
Second-year running back Jay Ajayi is expected to start against Cleveland and share reps with rookie Kenyan Drake.
