KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Quarterback Patrick Mahomes remained in the NFL's concussion protocol, but he took the majority of the snaps in Thursday's practice despite being listed as a limited participant, Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid said.
"Pat looked good out there,'' Reid said. "He did a nice job when he was doing it. It looks like he's moving around well. He feels good. It's just important that we follow the protocol and that's what we're doing.''
If Mahomes clears the NFL's concussion protocol in time, he would be available to play in Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead Stadium.
Mahomes was knocked out of Sunday's divisional-round playoff win over the Cleveland Browns after being tackled on a running play.
"He looks like Pat to me,'' offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy said after Thursday's practice. "He's been great in meetings. He's fun. He's energetic. You can always count on Pat being Pat.''
