NFL Week 11 injuries: Who's in and out for this week's games

Many players across the NFL are dealing with injuries heading into Week 11.

Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke will start this week while Carson Wentz recovers from a broken right finger. Coach Ron Rivera said Wentz has been cleared to begin throwing but has not been designated to return to practice. Washington is 3-1 with Heinicke as the starter this season.

The Los Angeles Rams will be without wide receiver Cooper Kupp for the foreseeable future, as he had surgery Wednesday for a high ankle sprain. He was placed on the injured reserve list, meaning he will miss Los Angeles' next four games.

The Arizona Cardinals have question marks at quarterback ahead of their game against the San Francisco 49ers, as Kyler Murray (hamstring) and Colt McCoy (knee) are dealing with ailments. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, head coach Kliff Kingsbury said he'll decide who will start later in the week.

On Wednesday, Murray said his injury feels "a lot better."

Here are some more injury updates from our NFL Nation reporters entering Week 11.

Mark Andrews, TE, Baltimore Ravens

Injury: Knee, shoulder

Andrews fully participated in practice Friday after being limited all week. He ran hard and without any limitations during the media viewing portion. This marks his first full practice since Oct. 14 and indicates he's trending toward playing after missing Baltimore's last game. "I think we'll wait until Sunday to say for sure," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said of Andrews' availability.

Gus Edwards, RB

Injury: Hamstring, knee

Edwards is truly questionable for the Sunday game against the Panthers. He has been limited in practice all week and he had a knee injury added to his designation Friday. If Edwards can't play, the Ravens will rely on Kenyan Drake, who ran for 93 yards and two touchdowns in Baltimore's last game (a 27-13 win in New Orleans).

Lamar Jackson, QB

Injury: Illness

Jackson missed his first practice of the season, but Harbaugh didn't express any concern about the Pro Bowl quarterback's availability against the Panthers. "He'll be fine," Harbaugh said. Asked if he'll play Sunday, Harbaugh replied, "Oh yeah." If Jackson is unable to play -- he's officially listed as questionable -- backup Tyler Huntley will make his fifth career start.

-- Jamison Hensley

Jordan Poyer, S, Buffalo Bills

Injury: Elbow

After missing two games with the left elbow injury he suffered in the Bills' Week 8 win over the Green Bay Packers, Poyer is questionable to return to the lineup vs. the Browns. He was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday, but would have been full-go Friday had the team practiced (the session was canceled due to weather conditions). Poyer was wearing a brace on his arm during the portion of practices open to the media. The All-Pro has only been in five games this year because of various injuries and would be a big addition to the defense if he can play, especially with linebacker Tremaine Edmunds (groin/heel) and cornerback Tre'Davious White ruled out and cornerback Kaiir Elam (ankle) also questionable for the game in Detroit.

-- Alaina Getzenberg

David Njoku, TE, Cleveland Browns

Injury: Ankle

Cleveland's standout tight end is questionable again for this weekend's game. Getting its second receiving option following two missed starts would help give Cleveland a shot at pulling off the upset in a must-win game against the Bills. Otherwise, Amari Cooper will see a lot of targets.

-- Jake Trotter

Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Dallas Cowboys

Injury: Knee

Barring a setback during Saturday practice or any added soreness, Elliott should play against the Vikings after missing the past two games with a hyperextended right knee. He will wear a brace, and how much work he gets is up in the air. Tony Pollard has excelled with two 100-yard games in Elliott's absence, but the Cowboys want Elliott's physical presence in their backfield. With a Thanksgiving Day game coming four days later against the New York Giants, the Cowboys could lean more on Pollard than Elliott in this one.

-- Todd Archer

Derek Stingley, CB, Houston Texans

Injury: Hamstring

Stingley is dealing with a hamstring injury and is expected to be a game-time decision. He hasn't practiced much throughout the week either.

-- DJ Bien-Aime

JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, Kansas City Chiefs

Injury: Concussion

With Schuster being out, the Chiefs will also play against the Chargers without another one of their top wide receivers, Mecole Hardman. Kansas City is left with Marquez Valdes-Scantling, the recently acquired Kadarius Toney, Justin Watson and rookie Skyy Moore. Valdes-Scantling is third on the Chiefs in catches (26), Toney led the team's wide receivers in catches last week (4) and Watson and Moore have combined for 14 receptions and two touchdowns.

-- Adam Teicher

Davante Adams, WR, Las Vegas Raiders

Injury: Abdomen

Adams has been limited in practice all week and is officially listed as questionable. He has 57 catches for 784 yards and eight touchdowns and last missed a game in Week 8 of the 2021 season for the Packers. But if Adams cannot go, expect Albert Wilson to be promoted from the practice squad.

-- Paul Gutierrez

Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, WR, Los Angeles Chargers

Injury: Hamstring and ankle, respectively

Allen and Williams, both sidelined for the past two games, are questionable for the Sunday night matchup against the Chiefs. However, both told ESPN they are ready to return to action. Both intend to go through normal pregame warm-ups without any special testing required and play against the division rival.

-- Lindsey Thiry

DeVante Parker, WR, New England Patriots

Injury: Knee

The 6-foot-3, 219-pound Parker injured his knee on the first play of the team's Oct. 30 win over the Jets, and returned to practice for the first time earlier this week. He was a limited participant, according to the team. There was optimism he might be ready for action Sunday in a rematch with the Jets. "There are things he can do on the football field that a lot of guys can't do," fellow receiver Jakobi Meyers said. "I'm grateful we have him here."

-- Mike Reiss

Corey Davis, WR, New York Jets

Injury: Knee

Davis will miss his third straight game, meaning Denzel Mims will once again start in the Z (flanker) position in the Jets' offense. Coach Robert Saleh said he's "really confident" that Davis will be back next week to face the Bears.

-- Rich Cimini

Chase Young, DE, Washington Commanders

Injury: ACL

Young has yet to be activated to the 53-man roster, though coach Ron Rivera said that could happen as soon as Saturday or as late as Tuesday. Even if he is activated Saturday there's no guarantee he plays vs. Houston on Sunday. Washington still wants to see him push more off his right knee with confidence. The knee has healed and there's little more the trainers can do for him, so it's a matter of Young's confidence in the knee and getting used to slamming into 300-pound bodies again.
