Lions' Mohamad Ibrahim walking after emergency hip surgery

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Detroit Lions running back Mohamed Ibrahim returned to Michigan on Monday morning after undergoing surgery on his hip.

Ibrahim was carted off the field during Sunday's 38-6 loss after dislocating his hip in the third quarter against the Baltimore Ravens. His injury required emergency surgery and he stayed overnight in the Baltimore area.

"He dislocated a hip. They just needed to put him under to get the hip back in, which it did," Campbell told reporters on Monday. "It's good and so, he's obviously -- he's walking around. So, that's good news. That's good news."

Ibrahim caught a kick return and took it 22 yards before being tackled by Ronald Darby. He remained on the turf after the play and was immediately treated by team trainers. With many of his teammates gathering around him, Ibrahim was lifted onto a cart and driven off the field. Minutes later, it was announced that Ibrahim sustained a hip injury.

Campbell says "it'll be a while" before Ibrahim will be able to play again.

"Still a lot of pain, but at least he can move that hip, but that's what it was," Campbell said. "It just needed to get it back in."
