New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is active for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons despite dealing with hip and rib injuries.
Kamara, who is listed as questionable, is an Atlanta native and didn't want to sit out a game in his hometown against an NFC South rival, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Saints star wide receiver Chris Olave also is active despite being listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. A source told Schefter on Saturday that Olave will test the hamstring in pregame warmups, but the Saints are "confident" he will play Sunday.
Kamara enters Sunday as the fourth-leading rusher in the NFL with 285 yards through three games. In 13 career games against the Falcons, he has rushed for 802 yards on 174 carries (4.6 yards per carry) with three touchdowns.
After opening the season with two wins in which they outscored their opponents 91-29, the Saints struggled on offense and fell to 2-1 last week in a 15-12 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Falcons (1-2) are coming off a 22-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
