Quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley and a sensational defensive effort propelled the Philadelphia Eagles to a 55-23 victory over the division-rival Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.

The next stop for the Eagles is Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

Barkley broke loose for a 60-yard touchdown on Philadelphia's first play of the game, and the Eagles never looked back.

Together, Barkley and Hurts combined for six rushing touchdowns, Will Shipley added a seventh, and receiver A.J. Brown contributed a TD reception.

The Eagles' seven rushing scores tied for the most in a playoff game in NFL history with the 1940 Bears.

The offensive output, and 55 points -- a record for a conference championship game -- was made possible by a dominant defensive performance, as the Eagles forced four turnovers, all of which were converted into touchdowns.

The Eagles, who will return to the Super Bowl for a second time in three seasons, await the winner of the AFC Championship Game between the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs.
