We're officially through Week 13 of the 2025 NFL season, and with only five weeks left in the regular season, the playoff picture and the road to Super Bowl LX are starting to come into view. Good teams have become great, bad teams keep finding ways to surprise us, and the race for wild-card spots is only getting wilder. Which teams have the best chances to make the 14-team playoff field? Which still have work to do to ultimately get in?
We used ESPN's Football Power Index to project the rest of the season, looking at the playoff picture for both conferences. We included updated odds for every team to make the postseason, clinch its division and even make the Super Bowl.
Here's everything you need right now.

Projecting the AFC playoff field
The Titans and Raiders are officially eliminated from playoff contention, which makes the AFC South and AFC West three-horse races ahead of Week 15. In the South, the Texans pulled off a big win over the Colts in C.J. Stroud's first game back from a concussion (and moved to a four-game win streak), while the Jaguars enjoyed a great performance from Trevor Lawrence (229 passing yards and two passing touchdowns) beating Tennessee 25-3.
The Chiefs' loss to the Cowboys on Thanksgiving plummeted their playoff chances, one week after they tried to right the ship with an overtime win over Indy. The Broncos and Chargers kept pace on Sunday by winning their games (L.A. beating Vegas, and Denver defeating the Commanders in overtime), and the Patriots strengthened their hold on the AFC (now 11-2) with a win on "Monday Night Football."
Projecting the NFC playoff field
The Bears are riding high on top of the NFC at the end of Week 13, after beating the reigning champs in the Eagles. With the Packers beating the Lions on Thanksgiving, Chicago's tough path to the playoffs was made just a little bit easier. The Bears face the Lions in Week 18 and play the Packers twice in the next five weeks.
The NFC West race keeps getting tighter, as the Rams fell to the Panthers in a wild game, with Matthew Stafford throwing two interceptions after throwing just two during the first 12 weeks of the season. The 49ers and Seahawks both pulled out dominating wins against the Browns and Vikings, respectively, as the Niners head into their bye and the Seahawks prepare for the fourth-hardest remaining schedule in the NFC.
The Saints and Cardinals were eliminated from playoff contention this week, joining the Giants.

Projecting the AFC playoff seedings
It appears the race for the No. 1 seed will come down to the Patriots and Broncos, but things get interesting from there.

Projecting the NFC playoff seedings
The Bears might be the 1-seed in the NFC in the standings through Week 13, but our projections say four teams have a better chance of ultimately getting the first-round bye.
