Another weekend, another huge $1,000 event. Chris Dombrowski topped the field of 2,108 players to win a career-best $346,332 in his 18th WSOP cash. The first bracelet win was a sweet moment for the 26-year-old who had his world shattered on Black Friday like so many other online professionals.
"It's surreal," Dombrowski said to the WSOP after his win. "I've been dreaming about this since I first started coming out here six years ago. To finally get it done is great."
Dombrowski edged out Mathew Moore for the win heads-up after a back-and-forth match.
"I've played a lot of heads-up over the years," said Dombrowski. "We had a good battle but in the end I just caught some cards. I won a lot of coin flips. It was nerve wracking, but it worked out well."
In addition to this bracelet, Dombrowski is also a Heartland Poker Tour champion, WSOP Circuit champion and a pre-Black Friday FTOPS champ. He has millions in online earnings and $765,709 on the live felt.
Other notable finishers include Antoine Saout (34th), John Racener (36th) and Kevin MacPhee (42nd).
