Wales will be without Liam Williams and Alex Cuthbert when they face New Zealand at the Principality Stadium Saturday.

British & Irish Lions back three Williams has been denied a reunion with the All Blacks by the abdominal injury he sustained in Wales' 13-6 win over Georgia.

Blues wing Cuthbert, who started last Saturday's win in Cardiff, would have been in contention to deputise for the Saracens man but misses out with a calf injury.

Both players have been released back to their clubs, with no timeframe given for their recovery by the Welsh Rugby Union [WRU].

"Liam Williams and Alex Cuthbert have been released from the Wales squad due to injury," an WRU statement said. "Liam Williams suffered an abdominal injury and Alex Cuthbert a calf injury."

Williams impressed for the Lions during the summer's drawn series against the All Blacks, starting all three Tests and setting in motion the Sean O'Brien try that has been nominated for Try of the Year at Sunday's World Rugby Awards.

His injury is a huge blow for Wales coach Warren Gatland as he looks to mastermind his side's first win in 64 years against the All Blacks.
