Former All Black Dan Carter will return to Racing 92 for the rest of the season as an injury replacement after being released by Japan's Top League champions Kobelco Steelers, the French Top 14 club said on Sunday.
The 36-year-old is expected to cover at fly-half after Pat Lambie was forced into retirement because of ongoing effects of concussion.
"Carter is back," Racing 92 wrote on their Twitter account, without elaborating.
Il est de retour 💙

Carter, who played for the Parisian club from 2015 to 2018, got injured during New Zealand's World Cup winning campaign in 2011 but returned to play a starring role as they defended their title in 2015.
Carter also won the Top 14 title in his first season at Racing 92 in 2016.
