The Six Nations game between Wales and Scotland on Saturday in Cardiff has been postponed, the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) confirmed in a statement.
The game was postponed just as Scotland were beginning their captain's run in advance of the match.
All other Six Nations games planned for this weekend have been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
"Whilst medical advice remains consistent, we have decided that it is in the best interests of supporters, players and staff to fall in line with recent measures taken across the UK and global sports industries," the WRU said.
"Every effort has been made to stage this game and we appreciate that individuals will have been inconvenienced. Given the fluid and unprecedented nature of this issue, a postponement became the only viable option."
The statement comes hours after the WRU said that the game would go ahead.
"Enhanced facilities for hand washing and sanitisation will be available at the stadium and there are measures in place to manage any issues with attendees on the day. In addition supporters are urged to follow the advice that is widely available on government websites in relation to the virus," it said in Friday's earlier statement.
The French Rugby Federation and Scottish Rugby announced on Friday that they were both suspending all competitions in the country.
On Thursday, the Irish Rugby Football Union suspended all domestic activity and the PRO14 postponed the competition indefinitely.
