Queen's Park coast to win at East Stirlingshire to boost play-off hopes
Queen's Park boosted their Ladbrokes League Two play-off push with a comfortable 3-0 win over the Scottish league's basement club East Stirlingshire. The visitors took the lead when Ross Fisher fouled Paul Woods and Jamie McKernon, against his former club, fired the resulting penalty beneath keeper Richard Barnard.Barnard made good saves from Vinnie Berry and Chris Duggan but Berry made it 2-0 from David Galt's cross and Paul Woods fired the third just before half-time.Woods was twice denied and Duggan was foiled by an offside flag before injury forced McKernon off the field.Barnard denied Galt a fourth from 30 yards and close-range misses from McKernon's replacement Conor McVey, Duggan and Woods followed.William Muir denied the Shire a consolation goal before Barnard's fine save from Woods left Queen's Park to settle for three.
