England youngsters win Toulon Tournament for second year running
England won the Toulon Tournament for the second straight year on Saturday by beating Ivory Coast 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
Leeds United midfielder Ronaldo Vieira scored the winning spot-kick to seal the trophy at the under-20 tournament in France.
Sheffield United's David Brooks, who was named player of the tournament, had supplied England the lead in the 14th minute, before Sheffield Wednesday's George Hirst missed a penalty.
Ake Loba converted a penalty in the final minute to force the shootout.
Both teams converted their first three attempts from the spot, but Huddersfield keeper Ryan Schofield stopped Jean Thierry Lazare's shot before Vieira struck the winning kick.
England's first-choice Under-20 side will face Venezuela in the World Cup final on Sunday.
