Chicago Red Stars edge Bay FC 2-1 in tight contest

Penelope Hocking and Ally Schlegel led the Chicago Red Stars to a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Bay FC on Sunday at PayPal Park. 

Hocking scored for Chicago in the 30th minute with a right-footed shot from the center of the box. In the 61st minute, Schlegel added to Chicago's tally with a stunning right-footed strike from outside the box, which ultimately proved to be decisive.

Bay goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland saved a penalty kick from Mallory Swanson in the 81st minute to prevent Chicago from increasing the lead to two.

A shot from close range in the eighth minute by Tess Boade was Bay's only goal of the match
