Payton Linnehan scores to put Thorns up 4-0

Payton Linnehan sends the Portland crowd into a frenzy with the Thorns' fourth score of the night.

Four players scored one goal apiece as the Portland Thorns FC shut out the Seattle Reign FC on Saturday at Providence Park.

Olivia Moultrie opened the scoring in the Thorns' 4-0 victory with a right-footed shot from the right side of the box in the first half as assisted by Sophia Smith, who also converted a penalty kick in the 80th minute and set up two more goals late.

Hina Sugita and Payton Linnehan each found the back of the net in quick succession during stoppage time.

Sugita's goal came from a well-placed shot in the center of the box, while Linnehan capitalized on Smith's third assist to seal the dominant decision.

Goalkeeper Shelby Hogan made several key saves to maintain a clean sheet against Seattle's attempts.

The Reign struggled offensively despite multiple attempts from Ji So-Yun and Bethany Balcer that were either saved or blocked.
