Emma Sears lasers home beautiful opener for Louisville

Emma Sears scores a fine goal to make it Chicago Red Stars 0-1 Racing Louisville FC.

Emma Sears scored the lone goal of Saturday's match in the first half to spur Racing Louisville FC to victory over the Chicago Red Stars at SeatGeek Stadium.

Sears netted a right-footed shot from the right side of the box into the top left corner of the net in the 26th minute to make it 1-0 Racing Louisville.

That score stood up thanks to several key saves from Racing Louisville goalkeeper Katie Lund, including one in the 83rd minute and another shortly thereafter to keep a clean sheet. The first came on a shot by Penelope Hocking from the center of the box, while the second was off a kick from Tatumn Milazzo in the 85th minute that was saved at the top left corner of the net.

Racing Louisville was buoyed by Savannah DeMelo's midfield play, which saw her take multiple shots and create opportunities for her teammates, and Carson Pickett assisted on several attempts.
