Sam Staab uses her noggin to earn the Chicago Red Stars a draw against the Kansas City Current in the 90th minute.


Sam Staab's goal in second-half stoppage time led the Chicago Red Stars to a 2-2 draw with the Kansas City Current at CPKC Stadium on Friday. 

Staab salvaged a point for Chicago with a header off Mallory Swanson's cross following a corner kick. Temwa Chawinga had put Kansas City ahead 2-1 in the 58th minute with a right-footed shot from close range, assisted by Debinha. 

Mallory Swanson opened the scoring for the Red Stars in the sixth minute with a left-footed shot from inside the box, assisted by Sarah Griffith. The Current equalized early in the second half when Bia Zaneratto found the net following a corner kick.
