NJ/NY Gotham FC, buoyed by Esther González's decisive goal in stoppage time, beat the Houston Dash 2-1 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey, on Sunday.
Yazmeen Ryan opened the scoring for Gotham FC (11-4-4) in the 10th minute with a right-footed shot from the center of the box, assisted by González. However, Houston (3-5-11) quickly responded seven minutes later when Diana Ordóñez headed home a cross from Avery Patterson.
In addition to her assist on Ryan's goal, González was instrumental throughout the match and capped off her performance with the decisive goal. Lynn Williams provided the assist for González's game winner.
