Trinity Rodman's stunning finish puts Washington Spirit out of sight.

Ashley Hatch scored twice and Trinity Rodman added another goal in Washington Spirit's commanding 3-0 home win over the Houston Dash on Sunday.

Hatch opened the scoring in the seventh minute with a penalty kick after Allysha Chapman conceded a handball in the box. She got the brace in the 26th minute with a close-range finish from a cross by Rodman. The duo continued to shine as Rodman netted an impressive long-range strike just after halftime, sealing the game for Washington (14-2-4).

For Houston (3-5-12), it was another tough outing as they struggled to break down Washington's defense. Diana Ordóñez had their best chance but missed wide with a header late in the first half. Jyllissa Harris managed one shot on target that was saved by Aubrey Kingsbury, who made two saves overall for her clean sheet.
