Metz v PSG
Doué caps win over Metz to return PSG to Ligue 1 summit
Paris Saint-Germain returned to the top of Ligue 1 with a hard-earned 3-2 win at bottom club Metz.
Gonçalo Ramos and Quentin Ndjantou looked to have put PSG in control, before a fierce strike from Metz midfielder Jessy Deminguet reduced the deficit ahead of half-time.
Substitute Désiré Doué hit a third on the break just after the hour and although Georgiy Tsitaishvili pulled another goal back for the home side, Les Parisiens saw out the closing stages to move two points above Lens, who play Nice on Sunday.
Metz, who had lost their last three matches, frustrated PSG during the opening exchanges before Ramos saw his bullet header from Vitinha's free-kick saved by Jonathan Fischer at the near post.
After Lee Kang-In curled a free-kick over, PSG went in front after 31 minutes.
A corner was played short to Lee on the right and he floated a cross through the Metz penalty area and Ramos powered his header down into the bottom corner.
Luis Enrique's side - again without Ousmane Dembélé, who is recovering from flu - doubled their lead in the 39th minute.
Ibrahim Mbaye broke down the left wing and on into the penalty area before sweeping a low cross through the six-yard box which was slid home by Ndjantou, for the 18-year-old's first senior goal.
Metz got themselves back into the match three minutes before half-time.
Tsitaishvili's ball in from the left was blocked, with the ball bouncing out to the edge of the penalty area, from where Deminguet crashed a left-foot shot past Matvey Safonov and into the roof of the net.
The visitors made a positive start to the second half, with Ndjantou's angled shot saved before Fischer then denied Ramos after he cut in from the right.
Metz missed a chance to get themselves back on level terms just before the hour when Habib Diallo fired just wide after Tsitaishvili had broken down the left and cut the ball back into the area.
It proved costly as PSG then broke quickly from a corner in the 63rd minute, with Mbaye sending Doue racing clear and he sprinted into the box before slipping a low, right-footed shot past Fischer.
Tsitaichvili set up a tense last 10 minutes when he curled in a second goal for Metz following a backheel pass from Gauthier Hein, but the Parisiens held out.
