Baker has already had a short-term loan at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday this season and will now continue his development in League One.
The 19-year-old, who signed a five-year contract with Chelsea in August, was the club's Young Player of the Year in 2013-14 and has trained with the senior England squad.

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson told his club's official website: "Lewis is one of the most gifted young midfielders in England and I'm looking forward to working with him for the rest of the season.
"Obviously with Dele [Alli] out for up to six weeks, Lewis gives us another option in midfield. He also knows where the goal is too, which is clear by the amount he scored last season -- a great achievement at any age level. I am confident that this addition will give us a real push at an important time in the season."
