MARSEILLE, France -- Marseille defender Nicolas N'Koulou is not fit enough to play in the Ligue 1 match against bitter rivals Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.
N'Koulou returned to training this week after undergoing surgery on his left knee, but Marseille coach Marcelo Bielsa overlooked the Cameroon centre-back in his team on Friday, giving starting roles to Rod Fanni and Jeremy Morel in the heart of the defense.
With eight rounds remaining, PSG and Marseille are in a three-way battle for the title. PSG lead Lyon by one point, and Marseille are in third place one point further back.
Lyon travel to Guingamp on Saturday.
