Montpellier midfielder Morgan Sanson will be out of action for six months after rupturing a knee ligament.
The 20-year-old France Under-21 international, who has made 33 appearances for La Paillade this season, was withdrawn injured only 51 minutes into his side's 1-0 defeat at Toulouse on Sunday.
The Ligue 1 club announced on their official website that medical tests had revealed a rupture to the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee, ruling him out for a minimum of six months after an operation.
The Saint-Doulchard born player later tweeted: "The verdict: a ruptured cruciate ligament... I'm disgusted and saddened but I will come back even stronger without worrying it will happen to me again.''
