Hellas Verona star Luca Toni shares Serie A Golden Boot award at age 38

Hellas Verona forward Luca Toni, at the age of 38, will have a share of the 2014-15 Capocannoniere award as Serie A's joint-top scorer with Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi after the Argentine bagged a brace in his side's 4-3 win on Sunday.

Toni, who broke the 20-goal mark in a season for the sixth time in his career, and Icardi finished the campaign with 22 goals each.

Toni scored in Hellas' 2-2 draw with Juventus on Saturday, leaving Icardi two goals behind. But the 21-year-old's double against Empoli ensured the two men would share Serie A's golden boot this season.

Toni has netted 42 goals for the Gialloblu since returning to Italian football in the twilight of a career which already seemed to be some way down the final straight when he moved to Al-Nasr in 2012.

He bagged eight goals in the 2012-13 season back at Fiorentina, the club with whom he won his first top-scorer's award with 31 goals in 2005-06, while he finished as top scorer in the Bundesliga for Bayern Munich with 24 in 2007-08.

Australian A-League side Adelaide United are interested in his signature, while there have even been suggestions he might return to the Italy national team -- though his coach Andrea Mandorlini believes that is unlikely.

Mandorlini might have him in his side for another season too with Toni reiterating last week that he plans to continue playing "for as long as I want to and can still make a difference," but added: "I don't want to be a burden."

Toni has been a vital player for Hellas as he almost single-handedly led the club to Serie A safety in 13th position, but said in March he will decide his future this summer while on holiday with his family.
