The agent of Barcelona full-back Martin Montoya says he is currently in talks with Inter Milan over a transfer of his client to the Serie A club.
A two-year loan deal -- after which they will have an option to buy him for €8 million according to Sport -- is reportedly being discussed and Juan De Dios Carrasco has told Calciomercato.com that he is optimistic about an agreement being reached.
"We're talking to Inter about Montoya," Carrasco said. "Let's hope there could be a good conclusion to these negotiations. We're working on it. Montoya feels that Inter are a great club and this would represent a great opportunity."
The Nerazzurri have already been active on the transfer market this summer, with Geoffrey Kondogbia set to sign from Monaco, and they could yet invest even more in building a side which can challenge Juventus for the title next season.
With Dani Alves extending his contract at Barca, Montoya is unlikely to be more than a back up player once again next season, prompting his decision to leave Spain in search of regular first-team football.
The 24-year-old made just eight appearances in the Primera Division last season and played once in the Champions League.
