England manager Roy Hodgson is keeping an eye on Swansea midfielder Jack Cork ahead of a possible call-up, sources have told ESPN FC.
Cork, 26, has represented the Three Lions at every level from the under-16s up to captaining the under-21s, while he was also a member of Team GB at the 2012 Olympics.
The former Chelsea youngster has yet to win a full England call-up, but his form for Swansea over the last six months has caught the attention of Hodgson and his coaching staff.
Cork joined the Swans from Southampton in January and his consistent performances have seen him establish himself as a key member of Garry Monk's side.
His teammate Jonjo Shelvey was recalled to the England squad for the recent games against San Marino and Switzerland and sources told ESPN FC that, while the midfielder was being scouted at Swansea games, Cork put himself on Hodgson's radar.
The England boss is short of defensive-midfield options due to the continued injury problems of Jack Wilshere, and Cork could benefit if the Arsenal man's fitness concerns continue to make him unavailable for selection.
Hodgson is prepared to experiment with his squad with qualification for Euro 2016 already secured, and Cork could be in contention for next month's qualifiers against Estonia and Lithuania.
